The ship couldn't intercept it in time, but the box was going to land in an unpopulated area. Wanderer nonetheless wanted the area quarantined and put under surveillance once it touched down.

It fell to the ground, with the shield having long since come off. The box popped open, and an... egg rolled out. A red, speckled blue egg.

Raminaa looked at the sensors and the surveillance, " An egg? Now what? "

Wanderer sent a shuttle down to pick up the egg for proper scanning on the Quroche ship.

((K))
The egg itself seemed to have something growing incredibly slow inside itself, at a pace slower than most creatures. Raminaa looked at it carefully, mistrusting it. He knew that whatever must be inside, must be Majaag, and thus must be stopped from infecting Angal.

After the egg was scanned on the ship, it was placed into one of the many holding cells Raminaa had spotted on his initial tour of the ship.
Wanderer explained that it wasn't a brig at all, just a place to hold a breeding population of whatever organism you wanted as the ship transported them to their new world. The chambers were completely sealed, since many of the creautres the Quroche transported didn't thrive in the standard Nitrogen/Oxygen mix.

Raminaa went back to the bridge. " This is too easy... The Majaag are obviously planning something. First the terraforming of Angal was allowed, then the destruction of the Areli, and now this... egg. It's like trying to put together a jigsaw puzzle when you're blind. I'm not sure what's up, how about you Wanderer? " Raminaa motioned to him. " What the heck are you anyway? "

"I have very little idea what they're up to. They want Angal for something.... Oh, I've got it! That comment I made about them running out of organic matter and turning on each other hit home! They probably want to use Angal as a farm of sorts. A permanent source of organic matter!"
He was about to run off to do something with this little piece of deduction, but remembered Raminaa's other question.
"As for what I am, some sort of energetic being with very limited control over space-time. Any more specific than that, I don't think anyone knows."

Raminaa was confused, " You're weird as all hell Wanderer, that's all I can say... "

"Naturally."
Wanderer took no offence to the comment. It was a bit of a compliment among his friends... well realy friends of a friend. He'd never met any of them personally.
With that, he went off to contact the Majaag and call them on their plot. Unfortunately, he knew not where the Majaag were curently stationed. He decided to contact the probe outside the system.
//All right, listen up. I need you to relay a message to whatever central command the Majaag have.//

The probe simply returned a few beeps, obviously the AC-Virus had seriously messed up the Majaag, even those outside its range.

Almost immediately, a response came, " Our intention is not to take Angal. Besides, we could crush you like an Areli with no effect at all if we wished. The egg is a special little present for Angal's transformation. " The message cut off.

Wanderer, deprived of the "ah! You got us!" reaction he wanted, returned to the bridge and slumped against a wall.
"Not quite what I expected. If they are to be trusted, they don't want to capture Angal... though technically farming isn't capturing... nah. I think that they know Angalesh are notoriously slow breeders. And that egg doesn't seem like a source of material. It's got a slow metabolism, too. d**n, I thought I had something..."

Raminaa looked at Wanderer with one side of his band-eye, " Maybe the egg needs some kind of conditions to hatch. " He went to the sensors, motioning where it had landed, " This is where a population of wildlife would definitely congregate. "

"Good idea... If you need me, I'll be in the containment bay."
Once there, Wanderer began fiddling with the enclosure's environmental controls, recreating the landing site's atmosphere, temperature, humidity, precieved wind speed, soil properties, solar radiation, and local water supply. If someone had just been teleported from the surface into the enclosure, the only difference would have been the placement of the plants. He was satisfied that he had duplicated the site, and scanned the egg again, looking for any change.
