Any investigation would give results that implied the Areli were never there, wiped clean from the area, with not a single peice of metal still in orbit. The Majaag themselves were no where to be found, disappeared into space like ghosts. Animals on the surface would've been find to still be alive, even thriving. However, all Areli-related life was gone. However, they left a probe behind to watch the world, and discover if their genocide was complete or not.
~
The probe near Angal gave off a transmission;
//Areli are now classified non-threat to Angal operations.//
It knew Wanderer would hear this.

Though no attack was comming yet, the Areli stayed in a state of emergency for several more months, untill the individual systems ran so low on resources that they had to restart the trade system. Hoise was avoided, though, and the nearest colonies evacuated.
~
"Fellows, I hate to stop the party, but I beleve we're not the only one who want your homeword back to it's former glory. The Majaag are in on this somehow, and they might have wiped out the Areli."
The group stayed silent, despite the fragment of good news.
"We're not going to complete this untill I know what's going on. The plant life is in place, and the place can support itself. I'm going to be taking the ship out of orbit, scan for some sort of raw material in the system to build some sort of defense."

On the outskirts of the system, the metal that had been taken from Hoise was warped in, floating through space towards Angal. Peices of ship, space station, buildings, everything. Raw material already processed. However, there were no bodies. Half of the Devastator floated through space, with its name on the side still showing. Such a sight might be ominous and yet strangely joyus at the same time.
The Majaag, ever the cautious species, did a number of scans of the surrounding space. The very fact that trade had begun again in the Areli empire was what may have sealed their fate, as the Majaag probes detected the ships going back and forth. High-ups decided to have a little fun with the Areli, almost like a cat playing with its prey. Ships would warp in, blast a trade ship to smithereens, and then disappear without a trace. This would certainly cause paranoia and distrust in the Areli, possibly fragmenting them on what should be done.
~
Raminaa awoke suddenly, " What? The Majaag are out there, not killing us for once? What do you think they might be up to, Wanderer? "

"They want the planet... why is the question... Once we've secured the system, I'm going to attempt to fire the AC-virus again."
Salvage work began, with most of the weapons being saved. Hull plating was collected, too, both upgraded to near the ship's level of technology. Soon, three stations were constructed in orbit, each equipped with a series of laser cannons based off the Devastator's, along with a healthy supply of C-virus and FTL equipped drillbits covered in it.
~
Once the third attack had happened, the UASC, just beginning to come out of it's shell, called an even deeper state of emergency.
All civilian Areli were ordered to withdraw to Cir, one of the few self sufficient colonies under Areli rule. Most, if not all, of the remaining military force was stationed there.
A "select few", mostly composed of high ranking government officials, scientists, and admirals, remained on Arel in an extensive underground fallout shelter. It was lined with the most advanced sensor-fooling equipment they posessed, mostly designed to give back false signals of just more rock and dirt.

The Majaag, satisfied that the Areli were scared nutsless, stopped their attacks. However, the Areli would be paid back in kind for destroying worlds, by having their own world destroyed. A gravity manipulator arrived in Arel's system, and almost immediately switched off the gravity of Arel. It then made it become truely anti-gravitational, shattering it into millions of asteroids that were set back to normal gravity.
Its work complete, it beamed videos of this to all surviving Areli colonies, //This is what happens when you cross us.//
After that, nothing more come from the Majaag at the Areli, except the jamming of all communications between Areli colonies. This was planned to make them develop apart from each other, and never become as strong together as they once were.
~
Raminaa couldn't figure it out. What was so special about Angal? It simlpy used to be a dead world, nothing more. " Wanderer, what could be so special about Angal? " He asked the strange being, still not understanding what he was. However, his answer might be answered soon enough.
A small Majaag frigate on the edge of the system appeared, heading towards Angal.

With the realization that their adopted homeworld was destroyed, along with a good chunk of the government, the military assumed control over the situation. They ordered a retreat to their original homeworld, the one visited by the Quroche ship months earlier.
There, they took back the buildings they'd abandoned so long ago, still in good condition. The climate was normal, which was odd. The ainchent computer predictions stated that all life would have perished in either the heat, the floods, or the extreme weather. Massive ammounts of radioactive fallout were absent, again against the models...
Their lesser bretheran, whom they had left behind on this world were nowhere to be seen, not even bodies. There was no sign of a struggle, nor a plague. The cemetaries were inspected, with the newest headstones dated nearly a century back. All biodegratable traces had rotted away, and what was left was useless.
And so the colonists sons returned to their world to find the results of an apocalypse, though not the one they'd fled from...
~
"Other that it being a Class-H world and home to the Angalesh? Absolutely nothing. You want special, go to Jaris. It's the frikken lost and found box of the galaxy!"
Before he could continue, however, the Majaag craft appeared on sensors. The stations were ordered to prep for battle, and the Quroche ship broke orbit to face the ship before it reached Angal.

The Majaag frigate stopped suddenly in front of the Quroche ship, and grew a white flag on its top. //We must speak to you.// The ship itself had an actual bridge, something no previous Majaag ship had had before the AC-Virus was let out of the bag.

Wanderer left the Angalesh in charge of the ship, then left for the Majaag craft, appearing on the bridge.
"Well, what is it?"

" We have destroyed the Areli homeworld, and crushed their empire. " The captain then motioned behind him, to a number of Areli held in stasis in pods. " Take them to Angal. They're a few government leaders that we picked up in the wreckage of Arel. "
~
Raminaa watched the ship from the Quroche bridge, trying to understand the strange motives of the Majaag.

"I guess they thank you, but why do you want them on Angal? The Angalesh aren't realy one for revenge. Besides the question of why you destroyed the Areli in the first place."
He observed the Areli, making note that they had changed slightly since he'd last encountered them. They were taller, with slightly stronger builds and more angular facial features. He also noted that their skin tone varied less than a shade among the group.

" Oh yeah, " The captain pulled out a synringe filled with something, " This ought to fix your friend's shape-shifting problem. "
" The Areli were an annoying pest. They threatened Angal, and so we wiped their people out. Chances are they're not all dead anyway, and maybe these few will actually be useful in the long run of diversifying Angal, and completing our goals. They're a pesky people that need to be disciplined. In everything else, our motives are our motives. The government knows what their doing, but I don't know why, so don't ask me, ask them. " The captain ordered the cargo bay be jettisoned into space, as the frigate prepared to warp away.
~
" The hell is going on? What kind of motives could the Majaag have... "

Wanderer teleported back to the Quroche ship and had the stasis pods pulled into the docking bay. One was opened, a man by the name of "Johnson Barnes" if his ID tag could be trusted. Once he awoke, he staggered around the bay for a few minutes before Wanderer could lead him to the portable scanner they had set up in the bay.
The analasis showed only a few small variations from the genome stored in the ship's memory, but that was to be expected. The race had obviously undrgone some sort of selective breeding, though the question of exactly how would be asked later. The process was repeated for the rest of the survivors.
Having had some non-violent experience with the race before, the Angalesh crew was all to happy to let Wanderer take the job of dealing with the Areli. Even after they were given quarters, the survivors never saw the rest of the crew, who avoided them like a plague.
The Survivors were quickly questioned on what the Majaag had told them.
The syringe was analized, and found to be quite similar to an Angalesh horomone, precisely the one that began the shifting gland's production of enzymes. Qynag was hesitant at first, concidering where it came from...

Raminaa walked into the room. " So do you really trust the Majaag now? They seem pretty suspicious to me, personally. But, maybe they're right, and it will fix you. "

"I'm putting it off until Wanderer can get to the bottom of this... The scans didn't show anything, but it's still a risk."
~
The plants on Angal continued growing, and the planet was truely green. The majority of the Angalesh were living on the planet, leaving the defence stations automated.
~
After a few weeks of observation, the Areli survivors were relocated to a pre-built town several miles from the nearest Angalesh one.
"It's not that they hate you, they just don't want a confrontation. You're free to leave, set up camp elsewhere, we've provided vehicles, but please don't attack your neighbors."

Just beyond the atmosphere of Angal, a tiny wormhole opened up suddenly, registering on the sensors of the Quroche ship, and possibly the battlestation's as well. Out came a small shielded box, that began to enter Angal's atmosphere. What was in it, was unknown.
~
Raminaa once again woke up suddenly from alarms in the ship, looking at the sensors, " I think we might be under attack Wanderer! " He quickly tried to determine what was going on.
