There comes an age, when a race must face its destiny: Transcendence, or extinction.
What if they were both the same choice?
---
Sigma 228: a large blue star, stable, and with an expected lifespan of many more millenia. Astronomers in the nearby sectors estimate that the star had already gone out by now, but that the light would not reach their telescopes for another 350 million years.
Imagine the surprise when the star disappeared 350 million years early.
No one really cared, and most just went on with their pitiful lives. It was just less star in the sky, one more unanswered question of the universe. Some said that an unstable core had caused it to implode. Some said that due to a fluctuation in space-time, the light had traveled exponentially faster.
It still didn't explain why it had left no gas cloud, no nova. It had simply... disappeared.
Nevertheless, after a few months the star charts were updated, and the general public had forgotten. Hardly anyone connected the two events when a small derelict craft careened onto a planet's surface at nearly the speed of light.
((This is a quite interesting RP in my opinion. I'm sorry if I didn't create an official thread for what I'm about to introduce, but I don't want to spoil the surprise. You are free to say the planet is your own, you can be a single person, or a whole nation. It's an informal "I'm going into the story" affair. Just remember, Don't trust what you cannot see.))

What race is this? Can multiple races be involved?
