I have two ideas:
Bay12games forum. Worshippers of Dorf Fortress. Known for creative stories of dwarves draining the ocean, creating deathtraps, and flooding the world with magma.
Giantitp forum. Seasoned DnD veterans. They are geniuses in the realm of storytelling, and keeping a world alive. Don't try and pull any obvious tropes with them watching.
both have people who are involved in lively RPs and worldbuilding themselves.
The pros:
More people. More threads. More comments. More life.
The cons: Could turn the whole board around. Many of these posters are generic fantasy people. It may be difficult for them to adapt to freedom, and they may have a problem with the rules.
So, what do you think? Do we establish contact?
(I have an account on B12. Giantitp may need a seasoned user before an ad post is allowed, but I'm already thinking of joining anyway.)

Find a similarly scifi board, and expose us to both simultaneously. Hopefully they'll balance each other out and our tone will not change much.

That will be difficult. Do you know of such a board?

I dunno. I think I could get in a small trickle of people from an Up fanforum, but it's pretty small itself and I don't think it would appeal to them much.

I've looked around for a sci-fi board, but to be honest, I have few connections outside of the Spore community. To just barge into any forum for the sole purpose of advertisement is punishable by banning in most circles...
I'm going to contact a few people at gaming steve. We've gotten some new people over there that look promising...
EDIT: I PM'd 12 people... let's see if we get any bites.
EDIT2: Allready got one "no" and one "maybe"... ah, well.
