Previously, on Universal Trek...
Wanderer gathered his energy, focused, and tried to phase the entire atmosphere of the ship, and anything in it, out of this timeline, and somewhere/when where it wouldn't be a problem... Jaris was rather nice this time of year. Let the 709th take care of them...
Some time later... or before...
A massive rift in spacetime appeared on the surface of the barren world. A large ship's worth of gasses, mostly nitrogen and oxygen, were sucked through, allerting the weather sensors of the habitat dome. However, stranger than this, was what came through with it. Humans... or humanoids at least, if the sensors were to be trusted.
The Man in Blue sighed. Whether these newcommers knew it or not, they were trespassing on a 709th outpost, and would have to be detained. He sipped his drink, thought for a few moments, then decided Seth would be the best to bring them in. He was friendly enough, if overly trusting...
He awoke to a bright light, just like every "morning". He checked his assignments, climbed into his uniform, and headed out for the airlock. After a few minutes as it cycled, Seth began the long jog to the disturbance.

EDIT:
This RP is open to anyone. It's a blank slate. Other than the CEPS, and the fact that the 709th exists, the whole universe is open to interpretation. Add on anything you feel would be appropriate. The technology, functioning, motives, and contemporaries of the 709th and it's head nation (if any) are up in the air.

One large demonic looking thing came out. "Gyeesah!" it shrieked. It started shooting fire and magma ll over the place.

The flares could be seen as far as the habitat dome, where the Man in Blue stood, watching... He expected this to be a fairly routine capture, even if it's circumstances weren't...
Seth also saw the flare, and grew more worried the closer he got. He'd most likely be within firing range in a matter of minutes; not that of the intruders, but his own, assuming that the intruders were human in terms of accuracy. If they were superhuman... well, he'd have to call in the snipers if things got out of hand. He hoped it wouldn't...

One muttered out "Noot... enough... eviiill... heeeere....". Suddenly, it started flashing out red waves, in all directions. Popping noises were heard everywhere. More and more like him appeared. Each one did likewise. Their numbers increased exponentially.
((Note- this power is temporary. It only works when there is a severe lack of demons in the multiverse they are currently in. Thus, it doesn't work in the RU world, because many demons exist there.))

The Man in Blue continued watching. Sensors now showed hundreds more of the beings. He could have just bombed them right there, but he waited for their numbers to stabilize. He had justification; there was practically a small army out there. But still, he held off. It would be the perfect field test of the CEPS...
He stopped in his tracks the moment the popping sounds started. They sounded allmost like small explosions. Fortunately, they all came from in front of him, but they were terribly close. He'd surely be spotted the moment he crested the hill. Prepairing himself for whatever the intruders might throw at him, he walked up into their line of sight, and saw thousands of them laid out before him, with more appearing as the popping noises continued...

The popping noises got nearer. Soon, they surrounded him. The demons covered him, and in their swarming more swarmed. Tens of thousands of them, all over him, spitting magma and fire...

He had no choice but to fire on them. Bolts of super-hot plasma ripped through the intruders, but more and more kept jumping on him. He shot rapidly, with both hands, faster than any human should have been able to, indeed, faster than some robots, picking out key targets with uncanny ease. Within minutes he'd taken out nearly a hundred of the intruders... but he was slowing.
The intense heat was requiring more and more drastic cooling measures. If they kept this up, he'd have to shut down his internal reactor to prevent a catastrophic meltdown. He desperately struggled to free himself from their grip.

And that's when he realized- the flame and magma and the demons were made of the same substance. The demons were attacking with themselves. And they did. They pooled themselves into a sapient mass of twisting magma, swarming over all the people in the area.

Seth played dead, mostly to prevent his core from overheating, and the intruders moved on. As the demon-mass flowed towards the domes, their turrets opened fire, each high-powered lazer vaporizing chunks of the magma.

But the popping kept the magma constant in size, and growing. It endrenched everything near- the turrets, Seth, everyone. Oddly, Seth found that though he experienced the pain, while he was fully immersed in this demon magma he could not die.

Exactly 15 minutes after the domes were destroyed, along with everyone in it, a distress signal (or rather lack of signal) warned the 709th's HQ that the outpost had fallen.
Sitting behind his desk, the High General slammed his fist down with enough force to tip his drink over, spilling it's contents onto the floor. He cursed harshly. The outpost, seemingly insignificant, had been one of the few facilities capable of producing CEPS, quite possibly the most valuable tool they had. Whatever had done this needed to be destroyed, and quickly.
Meanwhile...
A tall triped emerged from the lava as Seth desperately tried to excape. Some plasma shots were fired from the triped's cannon at the lava surrounding it's feet.

But they just had barely damaged it at all. The lava surrounded his weapon and destroyed it. The magma spread, around the surrounding landscape. Demons were borne from its very edge. The surrounding countryside was utterly turned into more magma. The spread rate was exponentially increasing... soon it would be like Red Goo...

With all the buildings on the planet destroyed, there realy was no further danger other than the fact that the lava was growing.
The pain from being in contact with the lava kept Seth from doing much more. He decided to shut down and wait for help to inevitably arrive. He knew he was too important to let fall into enemy hands.
Meanwhile...
A large fleet of cruisers was on it's way, armed with specially designed ship-to-ground weaponry.

Each of them began to fill with a strange red, horned locust-like creature, which attacked the living systems aboard and attacked computerized systems as well. When a ship was emptied, the locusts would turn into the magma.
