Dreams. Intangible constructs of the mind created from the remnants of countless memories. Residing in a realm virtually void of physical restrictions, they are able to manifest themselves in a myriad of forms, often taking the ones that are most compatible to their host. Dreams, being non-physical in nature, are completely immune to the rigors of the physical world. That is, as long as they stay in their own plain of existence... Dreams, given time, may grow into beings of immense power, having vast control over the mind of their hosts. Some may even gain the power to break away from the confines of their vast, yet exceedingly secluded world. While the results are usually permissible, only producing small cute and fluffy creatures, there are some cases in which things can get quite out of hand. Once in a while, there's a dream that's just up to no good at all. At first, they'd instill as much fear into the minds of their hosts. But as time goes on, they get more and more... "physical". These, are called Nightmares. Nightmares are extremely dangerous entities which stalk the night and prey on the minds of those around them. It isn't much of a problem if all they're going to steal from you is the town gossip, but that isn't always the case... Some Nightmares may go as far as to consume people's sanity, and if left alone, even their very lives. As you can see, Nightmares are very very dangerous. So dangerous in fact that a group of sages from all across the realms, with their combined strength and knowledge, built a massive device whose sole purpose was to seal away the great menace once and for all. Behold! Zumiraiadne! The Dream of all worlds! Note: The guardians of Zumiraiadne consider worlds and realms as one and the same.

Hey, man, are you continuing with this?
I've started a "project" that involves the Dream of Worlds. Its about three shadows that escaped from the "device". Is that okay with you?

Sure! ;D I'll try and get things up by the weekend, hopefully! :) Wow! What a long weekend that was! XD OK, back to the show...
Oh, hai! I is teh winnar, lolz! Can I has cheesebur-... Oh wait, we're already on?! ... ... Ahem! OK, so where was I? Oh yeah. Before we delve deeper into the more complex workings of Zumiraiadne, let me first teach you the basics of the Dream-Nightmare system of existence... What you see in front of you is a dream. Your everyday regular dream. As you can see, the sky is bright, it's full of very warm and fluffy clouds and there's little round... things that are all over the place. Picture perfect. However, if it so happens that a person experiences a painful stimuli while in a dream, like say mosquito bites, stomach aches or suddenly remembering a massive debt, the stronger, more aggressive side of the dream starts to kick in. And that... ... is a nightmare. This one in particular seems to be of the lesser type. Not very powerful, but can still be quite a threat to the uninitiated in combat. As you can see, it is now in the process of "jumping" out of the dream. That is, gaining physical form. The rate at which it does this is dependent on the host's will. The weaker, the faster. Now it's trying to go for my arm. Not so fast, fella. When a Nightmare is "killed" it usually leaves behind a near translucent "shell." This shell is the very physical manifestation left by the now vanquished threat. However, not all nightmares just vanish into thin air when they kick the bucket. Please take note of that. Hmm... We seem to have company. That thing over there is a greater type. Though admittedly, that one isn't as strong as the usual ones. Let's give this one a shot. One important thing to note about nightmares is that they gain exponentially more power when they are farther from Zumiraiadne. Not letting them get far from this place is key to taking them out faster and more easily. ... ... That glowing mass of energy you see right there is actually the greater type nightmare we just fought. Right now it's completely harmless, at least physically. However, do not let it get near anyone who can be a host to it. If i is able to enter a person's mind, the entire process will start over again. Luckily, we're within Zumiraiadne's vicinity. Any and all bodiless nightmares inside the vicinity will automatically get sucked into the great sphere in the sky, where they are locked forever, or at least until they manage to escape, again...

*Crosses fingers, hoping that this doesn't contradict one's own story
