Guana immediately ordered a jump to Halia Prime, now a Majaag wasteland of biomass hunting biomass from the shear starvation. The atmosphere had been turned blood-red, as had the ground, being the the Majaag even inhabited the air. Attacking with uncovered infantry would've resulted in immediate harvesting of said infantry. Nearby, a Spire began to fire at the ship. The Spires were very expensive in that they had to be built from the ground into space, but were also very effective. " Launch the nukes directly into the heart of the primary communications organism, and I mean literally directly into the heart. Send some decoys as well! " A number of nuclear missiles launched off, as the communications organism was atleast three cities large, along with multiple decoy missiles. " Are we set to get the hell out of here engineers? " Guana asked in a hurried tone.

"Yes." Lash replied. She was a bit suprised that the FTL hadn't taken much damage during it's first jump.

" Quick, get us out of here now! " Guana ordered practically yelling as thousands of acid globules approached the ship. They jumped back towards Polia just in time. " Close call... that should slow them down a bit. My new priority is securing this ship at Polia. We cannot afford to lose such technology, especially since the Majaag now have it as well. " He clicked his jaw again. " How much damage has it sustained? " Guana asked the pair.

"Mostly wear and tear on a few componants. Nothing that isn't supposed to be replaced every 5,000 light years under normal circumstances." Lash answered

They exited the jump to find a battle going on the distance. The dozens of Majaag had condensed into one massive destructive form that was completely wiping out the defensive Koan Alliance ships. However, there were plenty of Koan ships remaining to take the beast down. Without reinforcements, or a target jump location, it was done for.
" This is K.A.V. Dominator, requesting coordinates for landing at the spaceport of Foundation. " Guana transmitted to Foundation. " Please land at docking bay 1042. Try not to hit the repair droids on your way in, they can be very hard to repair. " The traffic control technician transmitted back. The Dominator quickly began to descend and dock, being magnetically locked into place. A number of walkways extended to it, and 10 normal doors opened, along with the larger cargo bay door. " Go see the Great One you two, just head to the massive spire in the center of the city. You can't miss it from a hundred miles away. " Guana then cut off the channel, specifying repairs.

"~You know, if we ever meet up with that Iniros fellow again, he should put this whole adventure in his journal.~" Qynag said suddenly on their way to the spire.
"~We lost contact with them nearly a year ago! Why do you bring it up now?~"
"~I don't know. I was thinking about how much everything has changed... I doubt you would have seen yourself here even yesterday.~"
"~There's a lot to be said about the ways of the galaxy.~"
She got the last word again... and they entered the Great One's spire.

When the pair entered, they had seen a room that looked for all purposes like a waiting room. Once they stepped in however, they felt disoriented, and were now in a palace-like room with and incredibly high roof, and 360 degree windows giving a massive veiw of everything for nearly a hundred miles. The room was entirely bare, and there was no door behind them. In the very middle was a platform with a large holographic screen that stretched all around it. A lot of typing could be heard, and by a lot, a huge amount. " Take a seat, right over there. " If an Angalesh blinks, when it did, two seats materialized by the holographic screen.

They did so, and while sitting, Qynag attempted to start another four-line dialog.
"~But really, it would make for good reading.~"
"~So good, in fact, that they'll make a program out of it.~"
"~Ye-- Right... sarcasm... I wonder what ever happened to him anyway.~"
"~Who? Iniros?~"
"~Probably settled down on some garden world, started a family, and is currently sipping jewelfruit puree while he watches a herd of native herbivores stampede off into the distance... Oh, brilliance, I've made myself homesick again!~"
"~Breathe deep, seek peace.~"
"~That's a new one... Elit?~"
"~My own.~"

" You may be a bit awed by this strange little spire. Is this so? " The Great One asked the two, never stopping his typing.

"A bit. I assumed short-range teleportation, personally." Qynag replied. Lash gave him a slightly stern look, and his ego's inflation was nipped in the bud.

" Something like that. Not quite teleportation, more inter-dimensional transportation than anything else. I'm not quite sure myself, even after nearly 6 centuries of living. The Jualicans were quite the civilization. I must apologize for the Koans. They are, afterall, simply Koan. Their brutalness does help me when it comes to the Majaag. Treacherous creatures, absolutely treacherous. So your homeworld was destroyed, your species nearly exterminated, and you came to me only two in number? I expected more personally. But all is well, you two are suitable enough to start a population I assume? " The Great One wasn't one to talk for a short amount of time. He had a lot to say, a lot of power to say it, and the ability to enforce what he said.

"Yes... I guess so... if we realy wanted to, you know..."
Inter-dimentional? Brilliant... just brilliant... he thought, using the adjective in the way a human might use "great"

" My hope is to have a large population within the century. Perhaps even put most of the Koans in Foundation into other cities, and let the Angalesh be the real dominators of it. Shape-shifters are of great value, especially against the Majaag. If an Angalesh could perfect the Majaag Common form, it is possible we may even be able to infiltrate the great Factory forms that pump out millions of Majaag, and seriously put a dent in their production. I do not expect to win the war anytime soon. I am wondering, is there a way to prevent the Majaag from using FTL to contaminate the galaxy? " The Great One asked, who stopped typing. The holographic screen receeded, and a shorter-than-average Koa walked in front of them. He seemed quite old and wrinkled.

Qynag drew a blank, but Lash supplied the answer, "There is a hidden failsafe in all Angalesh technology, several in the FTL drive. If the Majaag have copied the drive with enough accuracy, we should be able to shut down their drives. And as to the population, that won't be possible. Our young fully mature in over half a century."

" I'll look into speeding that up. " Is all The Great One had to say on that. Then he started again, " Good, but that won't hold them back for too long. The Majaag are painfully highly adaptive as you've probably already noted. Even if the entire technology has the failsafe, they'll figure out a way to rip it out, or simply formulate their own technology. They're not the brightest creatures, and their advance on their own is sluggish, but they have the ability. Oh and, " The Great One extended a tentacle, " my real name is Jaka'Nua, and I have lived for 651 years. "
