" We have not registered two other habital worlds in the solar system. If what you say is true, how could you possibly get here?! FTL is impossible! You are obviously spies! " The intelligence officer said, thinking he had figured them out.

"Darn... I wish I had my ship to show you... or at least a degree in FTL mechanics. And what would we be spying on? We couldn't even speak your language untill now." Qynag replied.
Lash, being a bit more diplomatic, handed over her TAOQY.
"Check the data in this. It has our flight log, history records, biological data, the plans for our ship, and hopefully the mathematics of FTL. There's more in there, but I just highlighted the things relating to the question of our identity."

After he opened the pod, and took the TAOQY, he quickly put it back on lockdown. He made a non-magnetic noise to a guard after he had looked it over a bit. He then threw it to the guard, who took it down to the engine techies, who could hopefully optimize their output. " Handing over the technology for FTL is not something a Majaag would do. Indeed, such technology could allow for us to finally end this war. " The intelligence officer rubbed his tentacle against his 'forehead' just above his eye-band. " Fine. I believe you. My name is Intelligence Officer Igi'Wak Juno, you may call me Officer Igi. The commanding officer can further explain to you our situation. He is on the battle bridge, which is in the center of the ship. You should be able to find your way. " He unlocked the pods, and shortly left to the bridge.

"~Well... Wasn't that fun?~" Qynag said in a slightly sarcastic tone as they headed for the battle bridge. After a long pause of walking, he asked, "~Do you think we'll get busted for violating the first contact law?~"
"~No. They have allready met with an alien race, albeit in their own system. That's the one loophole in the protocol.~"
"~What about giving them FTL without making an alignment check?~"
"~It could not be helped. Why are you worrying about this anyway? Who's going to enforce the first contact law? Those who lived by it no longer play a roll in this sector.~"
Qynag was going to add something, but they had reached the battle bridge.

The battle bridge was quite literally massive for a bridge. It was constructed around a holograph of the entire solar system in actual real-time, with actual distances. Larger than life fleets slowly made their way across the hologram, heading to attack Majaag targets. A number of tracked Majaag fleets also made their way across the hologram, some intentionally moving to intercept Koan fleets. Along with the identified fleets, there were a lot of Koan and Majaag space stations, colonies, and bases shown on the hologram.
Solar-wide war was painfully slow without FTL, and every decision had to evaluated, and re-evaluated over and over before being approved. Changing course quickly simply wasn't possible. If a ship ran into trouble, it couldn't receive help for days, or even months if it was low-priority. Reinforcements were also unlikely if they weren't planned for ahead of time.
Around the hologram, nearly a hundred different holographic consoles were displayed with many different technicians running to and fro. Holographic mostly to save material, and weight. In the place of the Koan/Majaag 'Lio' Star, was a platform on which the commanding officer sat. The Koans mostly ignored the two, going about their business.

The pair stood there for a minute, taking the whole bridge in. Then Qynag cleared his throat, hoping the translator could produce a similar effect.

The bridge continued as usual, except for the commander climbing down from the platform, and making his way over to them. " Hello, my name is C.O. Guana'Kopa Juno. I trust my brother has been a hard ass on you? "

"*cough* Somewhat... I am Qynag Orase, and she is Lash Sino. Qynag and Lash for short. I realy must thank you for your amazing timing. I doubt we would have survived for much longer had you not arrived."

" I don't really care about your survival, this scenario had not been planned for, which makes our strategists' jobs that much harder. The mission was partially accomplished, we scared off the Majaag. Your little scene distracted them for us, long enough to blast and burn a few chunks of them. Bastards are almost impossible to kill without radioactivity or fire weaponry. Even with radioactivity, they have a resistance to it equal to our own. They adapt so fast, everytime we discover a new weapon, they evolve to counter it. The war has been going on for centuries now. So why only two? " Guana said, also wondering in the back of his mind how they could've survived for any length of time alone against a Majaag with the biomass of a starship.

"There aren't very many of us around these days. Having your homeworld blown up does that."

" I shall report this to the Great One. He may see fit to allow you two to start a population. Shape-shifters can be a good addition. Good for many tasks. Your technology which we will shall be confiscating despite your opinion on it, shall also be a major help. All of this will appease the Great One. Your FTL technology has opened the door to the galaxy to the Koans. The Majaag cannot be allowed to discover this technology, or the galaxy will be forced into war. Is there anything major you have to ask? " Guana then asked, moving back towards his platform to inform the Great One.

Turning off the translator for a few seconds, Qynag whispered angrily, "~I knew we should have done an alignment check!~"
Then, regaining his composure and switching the translator back on, he replied to Guana's question.
"Since it seems that we won't be leaving Koan territory for some time, I'd like to know what our rights are and if there are any major laws that we should avoid breaking."

" The Great One will be determining your rights. Until such time, you have none. We could kill you right now, to prevent espionage by shape-shifter. I personally think you're too much of a risk, but the Great One doesn't think so. When we get home, you should personally thank him for saving your pitiful lives. Our laws are essentially the basics. Don't eat one another, don't steal, don't do anything bad in the eyes of the Great One, and always follow orders. We are not some backwater democratic slime like the F.I.N. " Guana then proceeded to return to his platform, watching every movement of the ships, and awaiting reports.

Qynag glanced to Lash, but her only reply was a swift hand motion, "later."
"Right." Qynag continued to Guana. "Approximately how long untill we return 'home'?"

" Simply looking at your technology has allowed for a 73 % increase in velocity, which is what my engineers reported. This should nearly half our travel time. Maybe a day or so. " Guana then went back to the holographic command, noting that the C.O.s of other ships were wondering how his ship had so quickly increased speed. He enjoyed gloating.
